The building of a charity
Well, what a week its been!
Most importantly the VI’s voted for the new name ‘Vision of Adventure’!
We had a trustees meeting where (amongst other things) we signed off our constitution ……we are aiming to be a Charity Incorporated Organisation (CIO). This allowed us to attach it as part of our entry to the Charity Commission submission.
We finally completed the rest of the forms for the charity commission and submitted them. It’s meant to take a while – sometimes up to 18 weeks. And that could take us up to March! I hope not! But at the end of it we’ll hopefully have a proper charity registration number.
We filled in yet more forms for the Co-op bank so that we can apply for a bank account. It wont be a zero fee account to start off with……..we’ve got to get that charity number first!
Jill changed the facebook page from ‘Spirt of Adventure to Vision of Adventure. We’ve now got an email address (office@VisionofAdventure.org) for the charity – so we can now write to organisations properly. Dave started up this website………..looks like there is plenty of work ahead there!
Jill has started looking at applying for funding from a few grant giving bodies including the National Lottery.
Steve has arranged (i..e ‘volunteered’) for Jill to give a small talk to the South Lakes Lions Club next month with the hope that they make a donation.
And there’s probably lots more that’s happened that I haven’t got time to write about!
