New Tandem in the Fleet!

We are very pleased to announce that we have been given by a tandem by Matt and Mary Hodges.

Matt and Mary have been tandem enthusiasts for almost 30 years and but have decided to rationalize their many types of bikes and just concentrate on cycling recumbents from now on. Consequently, they have donated their black Thorn Discovery tandem to VoA. It’s slightly different from all our other Orbit tandems in that it has smaller 26 inch wheels and V brakes rather than discs but it is in fantastic condition.

Matt and Mary have had many trips to Scotland including the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland together with trips to Ludlow, Wales and Cambridgeshire from their home in Lancashire. In all they have clocked up 35049 miles but it has had 27 punctures. I know all these figures because Matt and Mary have been very meticulous in their record keeping and have passed on an amazing document detailing all the maintenance they have done. They certainly put me to shame in recording everything!

The new bike is a welcome addition to the fleet and will certainly be utilised on our many courses and trips. Thank you Matt and Mary!
