June 29th to July 1st Saturday to Monday (event on Sunday)
We are aiming to take a small team on tandems to this cycling event in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. You can elect to do either a 40 mile route or the much longer 65 mile route. Sportive entry fees are £25.
There are 2 distances 72miles and 40 miles.
The 72 mile route is very hilly and is a long and testing day out. You must be absolutely sure that you can ride this distance over a hilly course and preferably have done the distance before.
The 40 mile route is also a good, challenging day out including some of the major hills, but the shorter distance allows for a bit more taking your time.
More details of the actual event and to enter can be found here (link opens in a new tab) If you are wanting to borrow a tandem or need a pilot please get in touch with us before entering.
Accommodation is at Borwick Hall (link opens in new tab) near Carnforth, Lancashire. Accommodation is dormitory style sleeping 2 or 3 to a room. Cost per night is £25. It may be possible to book a single room (£11 extra).
Food will be self catered, we usually put £5 per person per night in the kitty and cook together.
We aim to meet mid afternoon on the Saturday to fit up and test ride bikes etc. We can pick up from Carnforth station. (exact timings nearer to the event).
On the Sunday we will drive over to Ingleton for the start, ride the event and return to Borwick later in the day. Faster riders may have to wait for the slower people to finish before we return but there are plenty of cafes etc in Ingleton.
If people need to get back we can drop you at the station on Sunday early evening. Otherwise we will stay at Borwick Hall Sunday night.
If you are joining us on our swimming course at Isthmus House which follows this event then we will transport you there on the Monday morning.
If you want to know more or book accommodation or tandems then please contact us.
